Head Coach

Lisa Mathes-Peters enters her 12th season at the helm of the Falcons. While at East Central College her Falcons have won four NJCAA Region 16 Championships in 2012, 2013, 2020, and 2021. The Falcons have made one trip to the NJCAA National Tournament under Coach Mathes-Peters by winning the District O Championship in 2013. Three other times under Coach Mathes-Peters the Falcons finished Region 16 runners-up in 2011 and 2014, and 2019. A 205-194 record at ECC has Coach Mathes-Peters looking to achieve another winning season this coming year.

During her tenure at ECC, she has produced three NJCAA All-Americans and 31 Academic All-Americans.  In addition, Coach Mathes-Peters has had 34 all-region selections and 24 all-conference selections.  Numerous players have gone on to four year institutions to finish their academic and athletic careers. Tiffany Borgerding was an NJCAA 2nd Team All-American in 2011, Mackenzy Vedder was an NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention in 2016 and Trinity Clark was an NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American in 2021.

After spending time as a player and assistant Coach at Indian Hills-Ottumwa, Iowa she took the head job at Des Moines Area Community College for two years and then moved to the University of Sioux Falls in South Dakota as head coach for six more years.  The Cougars experienced success on the court and in the classroom under her tutelage. During her last year at Sioux Falls the Cougars finished 21-19.

Coach Mathes-Peters lives in Washington, MO with her husband Tim and their children: Blake and fraternal twins Bradyn and MacKenzie.
